a metronome sure makes a difference. i bought it on the weekend, and am using it to steady my rhythm in the Shostakovich prelude and fugue, especially. tonight, i used it for my Czerny etudes - wow, they're fast... i'll have to build up to the full speed. good work out for my left hand...so there it is, in the middle of the pic, flanked by Ste Cecile (patron saint of musicians), and at the bottom of the pic you see part of the Shostakovich fugue - with Russian text.
